The downloads contains the FM Works Evaluation software and/or the Video Presentations of its key components.

To install the Video Presentations Viewer

Download the Video Presentations from the web site. Run the setup_vp.exe to install the Video Presentations.

After you install the Video Presentations Viewer, click the FM Works Video Presentations icon to start the videos.

You can run each video separately or click Play All to play all of them in sequence.

Note: You must have your screen set to at least 800x600 screen resolution. If you are at the 800x600 resolution, the videos will run in “full screen” mode. Click the ESC key to get back to the presentation program.

Hint: Use the Media Player scroll bar at the bottom of the video to Stop, re-Start or Advance to any point in the videos.

To install the FM Works Evaluation

Download the FM Works Evaluation from the web site. Run the fmwsetup.exe to install the evaluation software.

Choose “Install FM Works Evaluation Software” to install a fully functional (with all components, but time limited) copy of the Pre-Release Version of FM Works on your computer. You may want to check the website for updated versions of FM Works.

Note: If the time limit has expired for your CD, call us at 800 942-8293 to extend your evaluation by providing you with a new evaluation software unlock key.

Follow the prompts for the installation. At the end, you will be prompted to run the “FM Works Project Wizard.” This Wizard will help you install an evaluation database or help you update your own database so that it can be used with FM Works.

We recommend running the wizard and installing the provided evaluation “HQ” database which already contains the FM Works required modifications. This is the first option in the Wizard.

The default login for the Works Manager in the evaluation database is System with a password of System.

To try the Work Order Express component of FM Works, use Karl with a password of Karl.

To try using a Crystal Report work request/order, select Tools / Options / Reports from the menu. Click the browse button and use the "acme.rpt" file, which is a sample Crystal Reports template for work requests and work orders. (use "orcl acme.rpt" if installed for the Oracle database).

If FM Works cannot connect to the database, you may need to install mdac_typ.exe from the MDAC directory on the CD-ROM.

Special Instructions

If you have an existing ARCHIBUS database enabled with FM Works and want to use this new version, please run the FM Works Project Wizard and choose "Upgrade and existing project(s) to use FM Works" option in the Wizard.
